Cerwin Vega D9

I think you need to consider exactly what you want more of.

I actually ran two pairs of D-9's at one point. It was fun, for sure. The main thing I was after at that point was more bass though. In retrospect, I may have been better served by simply adding one or two subs (I wasn't running any back then) instead of adding a 2nd pair of speakers. Because as great as those 15" woofers on the D-9 are, they still don't hold a candle to a pair of good large subs when it comes to bass. With a horn tweeter and dual mid-range drivers, even one pair of D-9's should be able to cover the upper octaves.

a pair of EV Century’s
The 15”ers
Do everything better than the D9’s
I’ve seen them for less than the Vega’s‘

I like modern Vegas. Mine have a Vifa tweeter, sounds pretty good. My computer is my main source for 99% of what I use my stereo for. I like them enough where I am considering getting their newest offering. Having an old fashioned stereo where you do not need subs is fantastic.

It's generally a new member that succumbs to the thinking that if one pair sound good, then 2 pair will sound better. That is rarely the case due to room size, reflections, etc. Get your room dialed in with one pair and see what you think. More isn't always better.

If I were to guess, if his D9s are not making his couch shake, then he needs moar power.

Not PA power, just more.. like at least 100wpc of ultrawideband goodness.

Isn't Cerwin Vegas speakers just... fun....>>> in a cabinet ?

I've never had a pair...

So, 2 pairs ?

Whyyyyyyy not.. life's short.

Mine sound pretty good, better than my Connoisseur C4 in everything with my setup and space.. I don't think they will ever shake the party stigma. I am not saying that they are an audiophile speaker, but they are pretty good for what they are.. glad I went with 15s lol..

Need a hand truck to move them though.. I carried them by myself from the street to the basement, and I will never do that again.. unless someone pays me ~1500 for them.. but feck that bring a friend to carry em haha.
