Cerwin Vega

There's a pair of Cerwin Vega R-24's at the thrift. Old, with real wood cabinets and non removable grills. Does anyone know anything about them?

Cerwin Vega is still around, and still making quite nice speakers. They're hardly the most accurate things in the world, but I doubt there is anything better for a party speaker. They're loud, bassy, and generally very fun to listen to.
