I'd never use such in any pots &/or switches, nor would I sand on any plated chassis blemishes. Some old tube gear steel was cadmium plated, which may best be left alone, as I've learned on this site a few years ago.
I don't redo vintage chassis, but some guys I know use Scothbrite or other scrubbing treatments. If you remove that top coating, the darn thing sometimes looks worse in a year or two.
Besides, isn't authentic patina the thing now?

FWIW, I`ve had excellent success over the yrs. with LPS 1 with no damage to the frozen control`s carbon tracks or switches of vintage electronics after letting it soak in overnight.
PB Blaster, as much as I like that product, I would not be comfortable and consider it too risky spraying it into any pots frozen or otherwise, especially vintage ones !

It may be best to leave PB Blaster in the garage.
I like Kroil Oil for decades-old, rusted-on nuts and bolts. Plumbing and cars!
