Cheap Chinese 6P3P kit

Maybe things have changed since statehood, but I grew up there in the mid to late 50s, before the quake. The general rule of thumb back then for all the 'Lower 48' folks was six years. No 'cheechako' here.

Same thing as the first week.

Now what I did was order some other gear from China to see whats what regarding time frame and ship. So far I've ordered tube adapters (6L6 to 807) took about 45 days. That was the longest time besides this one. I actually filed a clam thru Paypal and got my money refunded 2 days before I got the item. You only have 45 days to dispute the charge (waited until the 44th day) - Paypal refunded my money on that one and I need to send off the money to the seller, which I will do here shortly. The other gear I ordered (tubes), I got in 7 days. I've also ordered other tubes from Siberia in Russia and got my tubes in like 5 days. I know they were not heavy items like an amp but hey... 3 months.

Hey Siliconray, hows about you ship out us another kit and I for one would pay you the extra money to get it AIR ship, EMS or whatever is better than what we are getting. I'm good with you trying to get out an inexpensive kit like this. That's why I support you. Now that we have problems with the first few kits I think it would be a good gesture on your part to make the early customers that are experiencing the pain of waiting forever for surface ship, and have another kit sent via AIR and we pay the air bill. What do you think?

Well guy's I got my kit yesterday. It was packed OK and it made it with no damage that I can see. I think I was shipped the wrong transformer 240v instead of 120v. It looks nice, the schematic is in chinese and I cant tell the color codes of the transformer or some of the other foot notes that will be helpful I'm sure. NO response from Mike @ SiliconRay. I asked him for the schematic but I have not gotten it as of yet

Yup - I called Paypal on this a while back and they said to call my bank and ask them. I would prefer SiliconRay does the right thing and sends me another kit air shipment. How about it Ray?

I know you guys are getting pissed about the slow shipping I was as well. But I will say this in Siliconrays favor. He has answered a ton of questions on his live chat, and helped me though some issues with the kit. That being said, take a deep breath and relax a min. He is more than aware of the shipping problems. I included chewed his -ss about it. But he is working though the problems. Theses kits are a great buy for the money, the cabinet and chassis are VERY nice. The tubes well LOL they are just tubes. The rest of the parts are on par for a low priced tube amp. This is not Mac or Cary we are buying here. It offers a lot of fun for a low price. I hope that each and every one of you get's your kits VERY soon. I think you will agree once you receive them

Thats great but what about MY amp kit?? What are you going to do about me not receiving my kit after 3 months of waiting and no kit?

Ray, my EL-34 kit arrived yesterday afternoon. The other one has not arrived yet, but will probably come in on Monday, or Tuesday.

So far you can rest easy on my part. :thmbsp:
 
My rectifier tube was bad when i opened the box? I have the preamp kit all put together I'm just waiting on some US made tubes to get here. I will post pictures as well as tell you guys what I think of it once I get it up and playing

How did you know it was bad when you opened the box. Was it cracked?
 
No it was not cracked or broken, but upon testing the preamp i have heater voltage, and high voltage going into the tube but nothing coming out? i tested the tube on a tested and found it to be in fact bad? I'm not sure the cause but the tube is DOA.
