Check out this giant hoard of antique tube electronics

there was already a hoard of people there at 3:30 a.m.
...and that's why I laugh when I read comments about this being a dying hobby. The last HamFest I attended (Atlanta) was a madhouse with many younger people there. While it may not enjoy the popularity of years past, I see no evidence of it going anywhere anytime soon.

MY goodness.....just looking at the pics is amazing. I can't imagine the craziness that happened when they let people in.

Oh man, I wish I was closer - it's about 7 hours drive each way for me. This is the kinda sale I'd show up to with 2k and leave without enough gas money to get home. I see some serious gold. I mean, the sheer number of tubes makes me salivate, and all the books.... jeez... I think I see an rca compression driver on that red horn... all those transmitting tubes...... ugh, but it's in LA. I am sure the flippers will be crawling all through it before I could get there, even if I did go the good goodies would probably be gone...

What's up with the safe with tubes in it? I wonder, with a collection that large, what tubes end up in the safe??
