It was designed as an RF (radio frequency) amplifier for the amateur radio service.

The amplifier model 3340 input power is rated at: 2000w SSB, 1000w CW, or 600w AM and 1000w RTTY with the with the 572B tubes.

Some versions used 811A tubes instead of the 572B tubes, and were rated at slightly less input power.

Granted it probably is worth that, but the condition I see it in I wouldn't pay 40$ for it. My feeling is, if you can ask top dollar for it, you can go buy some 409 and a old towel....
