I have a Chinese 10L tank that looks very similar to the one in that ad plus a Vinyl Stack that I bought used from a local; been quite happy with it.

Even after washing with an old Nitty Gritty, I noticed a distinct reduction in surface noise after re-cleaning LPs with the ultrasonic.

I also know there are different quality levels in the part that produces the ultrasonic frequencies. Do you know which is the ideal range of frequencies to look for?
 
That is close to $800 with shipping! You can buy the same tank (6L) for less than $100 and get the VinylStack for 3 records for less than $400 for the whole thing! Your link shows a 6L tank and the stack looks like it is made for 6 records.....not ideal in terms of having enough room between the records for most effective ultrasonic cleaning action. Also, I would be hesitant with regard to warranty issues alone......should you have a problem, and coming from China that is a distinct possibility, you will have to pay the return postage.

You can get either 4 stack or 3 stack. The 3 stack allows for more room between the records. Do yourself a favor and get the drying stand.....invaluable, saves time and is super at holding the records after you've run them through the tank!

As for the tank, I've had mine for over 2 years now with no complaints, cleaned over 2,000 records, except that the heater is slow and then sometimes it will go up above the set temperature due to the transducers creating heat, but that can be easily monitored and corrected. It does not seem to do that any longer btw, just during the first couple months. Make sure you pay with Paypal so you have some extension to the Amazon warranty as well. I would stick with the "Vevor" brand and avoid others even though they might be a few dollars cheaper.....Vinylstack even told me that they have had really good success with customers using their product with the Vevor tanks.

I have to believe the one you linked to is a scam of sorts and there's no way the synthetic wax-wipe included is going on any record I own.....of course, then there's the phillips screwdriver, but you can get one of those at your local store for a couple bucks! Not sure why they include that anyhow.....

BTW if you are referring to the link I posted to the one that is $299, I would NOT recommend this as the record stack from Vinylstack is in my opinion far better quality. You were joking about the screwdriver, right??? I mean, that is included but hey.....

Has not been my experience but I've heard others say they are bothered by the noise.....guess it's just which one you get and what kind of job they did in adhering the transducers....

Mine sounds like they're rattling around the bottom. If the results didn't speak for themselves I'd suspect they were, in fact, loose. Considering their origin and price, it wouldn't surprise me at all.

I haven't used an ultrasonic but I'm assuming that if you got something like the above, you could leave some spaces on the spindle empty & do 3 or 4 discs at a time instead of 6.
Prices on the US units are starting to come down to realistic levels.
The Spin Clean & vac I do now works pretty well - but I know there's another level.
I knew I could count on AK to help me spend $$ I don't have. :)

Right you are, Bob! Just wait until you get set up.....however, while some have experienced good results with just plain distilled water, there is an extra "bump" to the clean when you use a solution that is designed for this. You probably already know about that but if you need help, just let us know! And, it doesn't cost very much to put the solution together but last I looked the Hepastat 256 was kinda hard to source.....I wonder why??? Aaaaaargh, dang pandemic messin' with so many things but this is trivial compared to losses some have experienced and my heart goes out to them.
 
I wonder if you could do 6 LPs at a time w the 10L tanks.

I can see a "spin clean - vac - UL clean - dry" process but at 3 or 4 LPs at a time, the UL step would be a bottleneck in the process.

I have lots of the solution that came w the Spin Clean.
Thats non foaming & it helps the dirt settle to the bottom of the tank.
I don't know if thats adequate.
 
If by UL you are referring to Ultrasonic, then I would suggest a different regimen altogether.....I simply vacuum the albums to get most of the surface stuff off and then mount them on the vinylstack for 3 records.....put in the US cleaner for 15 minutes turning very slowly, 3 minutes per turn for a total of 5 turns, and then remove and put on the drying stand. Then, I rinse and vacuum each one before putting them in a new inner sleeve. I know that some recommend against doing anything after they come out of the US tank and simply air-drying, but that has not seemed to work as well for me as the method I describe but YMMV....

I don't know about that Bob as I'm not sure what is in the Spin Clean solution, but there is an extensive thread here started by Phantomrebel that really goes into detail about the "what" and particularly the "why" of the what should you care to entertain yourself! I did, and found that by reading a few pages a day I was able to fully anticipate what I needed and it made the whole process very rewarding indeed!
 
And if you do a search on my posts here, you will find a thread wherein I have detailed every component and how much of each goes into the solution I'm using based on the discoveries of minds far sharper than mine but I'm happy to benefit!

I'll have to read that. I checked the Spin Clean bottle & it doesn't say what the components of the liquid are so maybe thats not a good idea.

Not surprising as those merchants formulate their solutions for their products so it would be counter-productive for them to give out the ingredients as many might then just whip up a batch of their own.....however, I am pretty confident that you won't be hurting your vinyl by using that solution in a US tank, just not sure you would get the best possible outcome.

In any case, when you get set up I'm pretty confident you won't be looking back....I am amazed every time I sit down to listen, which is every day lately, at how quiet my records are. Then, there is always the oddity where a record simply has groove damage that isn't going to be corrected by US cleaning or anything else that I'm aware of. At least now I'm ultimately more aware of what I'm hearing and when I hear that, I'm fairly confident it isn't dirt in those grooves.

Rob, apologies and hoping you aren't feeling like your thread got hijacked because everything we have been discussing is stuff you will benefit from knowing about should you decide to go this route....
