Citation I and II in New Jersey

Those actually don't look bad, but the pricing is pretty optimistic, when the working condition is questionable. :scratch2:

If a fella were to send them both to Mr McShane for total and proper refurbishment, i'd wager that just the Citation II would be worth the total investment.

Just my .02................

I agree. They bring big bucks and one redone right would be worth every penny spent towards a rebuild. I really think you would be hard pressed to find this deal elsewhere on the open market.

Truly drool-worthy... but too far away and too far outside my budget right now. Too many local temptations to be shipping that kind of iron around the other side of the planet.

For someone local to 'em with the skills and expertise to rebuild those (or the money to have them expertly rebuilt), they'd sure be nice to have! :music:

I would go for it except for the following:

- if I were to keep it, not sure if I would devalue it by rebuilding it without spending a mint on expensive parts worthy of the platform.
- there's also the question on whether I personally need a $1500 amplifier at all
- not sure if it's worth the risk if I were to flip it on the auction site and something happens during shipping

With all those missing tubes, how would the prev owner know "they worked when put away?" I think this guy is the one who pulled all the tubes out...

I contacted the seller to see what he has to say. I'm sure I could test the amp before buying it, although that may negatively affect the negotiation if the amp is working. Would 6L6 or EL34 tubes work for a quick test?
