Citation I and II in New Jersey

And another thing. Why is it, on the rare occasions I even bother to check CL.
I never see anything other than overpriced BPC 80's rack systems listed for $400, or 'jailbroken' cell phones of dubious provenance?

You guys who are close oughta at least check them out, "if" the funds are available. That's a big issue for me, I know, most all my purchases are lucky grabs, with lucky good timing. ;)

I spoke with the owner, a very nice man. He uses the same tube repairman as you.

Getting things "on the cheap" is more my speed. I'm sure I'll wangle something interesting soon. :yes:

I'm an 'on the cheap' guy as well. :thmbsp: :D
And there is always another interesting piece on the horizon, it happens to me, every time I miss something.

But I've never seen any Citation gear in the flesh, so I'm going for at least a 'look see'.
 
So I went for a look see.
Turns out I've known the seller for years. He's really good, and honest guy. :thmbsp:

Both units are in very good shape, and above average cosmetic condition.
The I is just about perfect. The II has a few chips and scuffs in the paint, especially on the transformer covers, but still very, very nice.
They should make some lucky buyer, very happy.

But that's as far as we went. So since they've been sitting in storage for over 20 something years, and he has had them for quite a while himself, having never fired them up. And after reading Jim McShane's page about the needed steps to take, in bringing them back to life, we decided it was more prudent, to leave them as is for now.

So they are still available, and as yet untested.

:yes: Plus it is very heavy and ENORMOUS!! I had no idea how big it was. I would have no place to put it.
I had a chance at a Citation V for $350 and missed it by 30 seconds. By the time I hit the BIN it was already gone.

:tears: Yes, one can NOT hesitate, when you see something that good. It has happened to me as well.
A pair of MC-60 or MC-30, I forget which. For BIN of $500. Or a MAC 1500 w/wood case, BIN $600.

I was familiar with the II, but not with the V. By the time I looked up the pricing it was gone. Know for next time.

Cool, at least you got to see them & size them up. :thmbsp: I couldn't afford them right now either, especially with the cost of rebuilding them properly, but it would be great to see someone get them who fully appreciates them. :smoke:
 
If you've got a burning need for a Citation II, there's one up on the 'Bay right now. Only a few hours left, but the current bid is a reasonable $400. I'm curious to see how high it'll go in the last few seconds...
