Wow that is some serious carving. That must have taken forever. Definitely worth a look, anyone spending that much on the enclosure would probably pony up for some nice drivers to fill it

Looking at the size, I wouldn't be surprised if there's Bozaks or EVs hiding inside... I'd be all over those like stink on a pig!

Bozaks are the first thing that came to my mind. I missed his return call and he didn't answer mine again. Phone tag will continue.

Looks like an organ speaker of some kind from a church that just had pretty cabinets made. Could be something lurking behind there, though.

The carvings look oriental though, not quite what I would picture in a church. I could see the GI theory, I just hope they are the real deal and not just a good looking set of junk speakers.

I bet they're empty the ad is for speaker cabinets not for speakers

It does say they "sound great", but you're correct that it says 'Speaker cabinets'

Unless they think knocking on them sounds great, they must have some drivers.

Other possibilities are Altec and Jensen. I'd be all over these like hair on a gorilla.

That is something I never would have thought of.I mean,what could make a nice set of cabs even nicer?May have to consider having something like that done,the next time I go to the Philippines.

If they are indeed 1961 I think Vietnam unlikely. Okinawa would be my guess, of course there are several options.

Finally made contact with the seller and here's the story: There's no maker's mark on the cabinets and he thinks they are from China. Each cabinet has two 12" pioneer woofers, no tweeters or mids. He threw out a $300 for the pair price. While the cabinets are nice I'm going to pass. They are huge and my speaker purchases for the last 12 months include Kappa 9 and Klipschorn pairs.

They do look great. Lots of time and care went into them.

I wonder if one of the two 12 inch drivers is a standard woofer and the other a co-axle or triaxle speaker :scratch2: yeah at 300 dollars though i don't blame you for passing, chances are at that price he will have them awhile, still you would like to think with the quality of the cabinet that the speakers would be of some quality.

Could those be valuable vintage Pioneer drivers, or are they likely to be recent or even recent junque? Odd that they'd only have woofers.
