Class D integrated amp Choices

Hello everyone,

I’m looking for a second hand integrated amp and I have narrowed the options to:

- NAD D7050, first generation (no phono option)
- Peachtree audio Decco 65, also the first generation

I live in Mexico and the reason for narrowing to these two options is because of what’s currently available in the market. Both are roughly the same price ($500).
My speakers are ELAC’s Debut 2.0 towers F6.2 playing in a rather small 17x17 ft room (I don’t care about power but sound quality).
80% of the music that I play are FLAC files played through VOX on a Macboo pro and I also stream from Tidal.

Any thoughts?
Thank you!

I'd go with the Peachtree. Haven't heard either but, the Peachtree may power the Elacs a little better. Just my $0.02, don't spend it all in one place.

Good point, thank you.

Any thoughts about a Cambridge Audio CXA60? Somebody just offer it to me at roughly same price.

Are you looking for a Class D amp exclusively? I ask because the Cambridge is a Class AB.

Hi. Not class D exclusively. For some reason the first two class D were available and then the Cambridge (A/B) showed up. I actually think the Cambridge being AB could be better sound quality and also it is a more recent generation equipment. Actually, I never owned a class D amp and was curious to try it. The one thing you have to understand is that the second hand market in Mexico is reduced and I have no access to anything that I see published in the US.

Thanks!

Sorry for my long response!
Bottomline I’m looking for the best integrated I can get for around $500

A little out of your range, but the Rogue Sphinx is a tube input with a class D output stage, and it has a phono stage. It gets a lot of good reviews, too. If you look at the "Sold Items" on the e-auction site, they routinely go from $700-$900.

Thanks Geoff. The Sphinx looks very interesting, I will look into it. I may wait and save a little more $ and go for this upper class equipment. It may be best considering I'm looking for something to hold on to for the long term.
