Cold Weather Superbowl....chance of postponement ??

There is no talk of this game on local radio here. Cold, dark, rainy, wet, driving costs and nightmare traffic. Anyone attending this game will have to leave their place hours before it starts. Seattle may not as well exist to those on the East Coast. Why would anyone in New Jersey care about this game. New York is a Giants town. And the Meadowlands certainly isn't a vacation destination.

Anyway you look at it, NY will benefit from Out of Town Hotel sales as well as all the hype going on in the Times Square area.
As of today, the forecast is cloudy with temps in the low to mid 40s. In this area a difference of 20 miles can be a big difference weather-wise. The best indication is 24 hours in advance. I member discussing this with WCBS CH 2 NY weatherman Lonny Quinn when I worked for Channel 2.
Ticket prices are starting to rebound.

The NFL was praying that San Fran would beat Seattle in the NFC title game. The 49ers have a large nationwide fanbase and would be a good draw not only in NY/NJ for the game but also a large TV following. Seattle on the other hand, is a Northwest team, not a huge following compared to many other teams and the East Coast could probably care less about them.

I hope it snows, is cold and the NFL learns not have Super Bowl's in cold weather cities anymore. Domes, Rose Bowl, Arizona, Florida, Texas. Not that it can't be cold in any of those locations, but the average temps are usually in the 60's-70's.

Has announced publicly that he thinks playing the Superbowl outside in NJ is stupid.
:stupid:
I just heard the interview.

'' you shouldn't ask the players to play the SB in those conditions..''
'' The game should be played in as close to perfect conditions as possible ''

So there ya go,from one of footballs original iron man tough guys who coached and played in an outside stadium forever. . :thmbsp:

Yep, pretty ironic since his 1985 Bears won two playoff games in Soldier Field outside at Chicago in January. In fact, the only loss the Bears had that year was in the warmth of Miami...:scratch2:

Playoff games Andy.Not Super Bowls.

Up to 50 deg on Sunday in East Ruth. Can we close this thread?

Why ? . :scratch2: . Don't like it.Don't read it !

Still 18,000 tickets remain. After reading this, I can see why.

'' Roger Goodell has restricted so much that it’ll be a journey in and of itself just to get to East Rutherford come kickoff.''

“You cannot take a cab to the game. Cabs are completely out of the picture. You cannot take a limo to the game. You cannot walk to the game and you cannot tailgate unless you are inside of your own car and shell out $150. The NFL has also set up the ‘Fan Express’, which are league-sanctioned shuttle buses that will take you to the game from designated areas for $51.”

“That’s a lot of hoops to jump through,” said Wallach.

“Even if the weather is alright it’s going to be cold. You’re paying $1500 face value for a ticket, $150 to park and they want you inside the stadium by 4 o’clock and sit there until 6:30pm –

What a mess ! ! . :sigh:
