The way I see it, IU is having fun playing and with little concern for individual 'selves'. just look at Mendoza half the time- he is having a lot of fun. And this unit is completely cohesive and can anticipate their team-mates thinking and movement; it's like watching a large extended organism on the field. I also feel that they all are playing to please Cignetti in a way that kids would try to please a strict dad. I don't believe that you can really compete with any of that.

Cristobal has the same no-nonsense air about him. It will be interesting to watch these two coaches on the sidelines.

Further intrigue- a fun fact:
Mendoza's father and Cristobal played HS football together.

Looking forward to the championship game - that first quarter is going to be intense.

Indiana is favored - the line is 7.5, but I have this feeling that Miami may squeak out a win.

Pulling for IU. The only other team I'd watch that were in it is Michigan, or maybe Mich St. Haven't watched an NCAA championship game in years.

Of all the things that could have happened, to think that IU could win a championship is almost unthinkable. IU and Northwestern are the two teams that have lost the most games ever in collegiate football.

Miami came out in the second half and made a great game of it. That's a fantastic team as well.

That was something! I must admit that I dozed off in the last 5-6 clock mins in the game, but saw the highlights after. Wow.

Miami sure was ready, and IU did some uncharacteristic things in that game. Though I liked that the officiating crew let them play more than almost every other game that I've seen, there were some rather serious missed calls (the hit on Mendoza comes to mind) as the most egregious call that did not happen.

So how many personal, school, conference, NCAA, and historical records did this team achieve this year? lol

I honestly felt Miami was gonna win.. I knew it would be close, just thought it would go the other way..

The game started out slow offensively, but it was a great game..!!

And the Big 12 officials let them play.. Kudos..

There is no need to fold up this thread- there is a lot to discuss:

Without Mendoza, will IU be the same?
Has it all become a BIG10/SEC/ACC-only club in the next decade(s) in the semi-finals? Maybe the BIG12?
What about the new PSU coach not even wanting to talk with Grunkemeyer? He salvaged the season to a bowl game.
After the vultures have picked the Michigan carcass clean, what does that look like?
Any number of teams in the same ^^ position?
Will Artificial intel replace the 'committee' in making ranking decisions?

What else to discuss? There is a lot tat changed in '25, with ramifications into '26 and beyond.
