We are 3 weeks out from Week 0 and the start of the 2026 season!

Time to start diving into the rule changes, gossip, first top 25 rankings, strength of schedule, playoff changes...

I'm hoping for the chaos and fun we saw last season. :thumbsup:

General Manager Lombardi on Administrative Leave with lots of questions and no answers. He is under investigation by College Sports Commission.

Coach Belichick missed HOF award ceremony because he was attending cheerleading competition with his 25 year old girlfriend Jordon

Steve Belichick (defensive coordinator and Bill's son) is on medical leave with return date unknown.

But yeah, I look forward to seeing some college football :beerchug:
 
The coaching carousel sure adds to the uncertainty for how some big name schools are going to perform.

Michigan has Kyle Whittingham from Utah

Penn State has Matt Campbell from Iowa State

Virginia Tech has James Franklin from Penn State

and the big one, to me
LSU has Lane Kiffin from Ole Miss (btw, LSU plays at Ole Miss week 3 - do NOT miss that one!)

The list goes on and on...

How 'bout we watch the first 5 games of the season and see how the sports pundits explain where they went wrong in their preseason predictions.. :biggrin:

I enjoy college football. I would like to see one rule change,though.

If you transfer to another college to play football, you have to sit on the bench for one year before playing again.

Wouldn't that be interesting?

Interesting rule change for Targeting penalty.

There will no longer be a 1st half carryover for a first time offender (in the season). Meaning if a player is penalized for targeting in the 2nd half of a game, and it is that player's first targeting foul for 2026, he will no longer have to sit out the first half of the following game.

However, if you are a second time offender, you WILL sit out the first half of the following game, no matter what half you committed the penalty in the current game being played.

And if you are a third time offender, you will sit out ALL of the next game.

This does mean the officials will have to keep track of all targeting penalties for all players and be part of the review process during the game.

The rules for targeting do not change (that's a whole different barrel of monkeys).
