Post any tube amp but let's see the truly rare, odd, & obscure ones dragged out for the camera. Make this thread one stop shopping for anyone interested in tube amps they have not seen before. Be sure to include a brief description too.

I'll open with a Techmaster Model 22, dual-channel MONO amplifier. It uses SE 6BQ5's but get this, one channel is highpass to the tweeter, and the other side is lowpass to the woofer. It was a biamplifier amplifer! I've never seen another or found any reference to it. It is rare, odd & obscure all in one and Hi-Fi too! (Says so right on the front!)

of course, no rare thread is complete without just about 2 of the rarest KT66 monoblocs on the planet! :smoke:

A PPP 7189 that Sherwood marketed to add onto their integrated stereo preamps (I've got the S-4400 too) which had only one power amplifier so you could ease your way into stereo one channel at a time.

Neat! Is that an S-360 per chance?

I'll see you with a Triad HF-18A. PP 807's in Ultra-Linear mode with a Triad HSM-189 output transformer. This was a kit sold by Triad in the mid 50's and came with a pre-punched See-Zak aluminum chassis as well as the info decals -

Nothing as cool as you guys have, but the first one is a Maggie bi-amp with two channels 6V6PP for lows, and two channels 6V6 single ended for the highs. Next is a Stromberg I've been trying to find a mate for, for years, then a little Masco like the one on MASH :D, and lastly a Devry projector amp using 6L6s PP.

I guess this would fit "odd" or "obscure", since I have no idea who made it yet. I had a mystery amp thread awhile back, without pics, lol, maybe someone will recognize it now. Close as I can tell, it's mono PP, but the power tubes are a Tung-Sol 5881 with a "customized" base, & a CBS 6L6WGB. :scratch2: I stuck a quarter on the PT, for scale.

1&2: Meissner 9-1093 amplifier. Made as a kit to mate with a preamp/tuner (which I also have). 6L6(2), 5Y3G, 5V4G, 6SN7GT, all Raytheon. Amp is late 40's IIRC. 18 watts, +/- 2db from 50-15,000 hz. Pretty rare and obscure as I have been waiting a long time for a mate and haven't ran across one. Original MSRP was 310.00 (a chunk of change in the late 40's)

3: Not really an amp, but definitely rare and obscure as I have never seen another like it. General Hi-Fi KHB-202 console made by Yaou Japan. 3OA5(2) outputs and 35W4. Stereo phonograph and independent left and right AM channels. Seems kind of strange even.

4&5: Electra model SA-100. Nice little amp. Very obscure to me as I have never seen another like this either. Japanese tube amp that ironically? uses Fisher names as brand and model. 12AX7A, 7189A(2), and 6CA4.

Have some other rare and obscure parts, but this is it for my obscure complete units.

Wow..I have a simular Masco at my storage so I have no picture of it...
A 78 turntable/changer is mounted to the top and it has two microphone inputs. I recapped it a while back/plays good..more of a Western Electric inspired design..and with around 525+ volts of B+ driving p-p 6L6GA's!!
And I have the same maggie as you too..an AMP182!!
