I picked up this Realistic STA-2100 on the bay and it have a burn input selector light out and would like for someone to go over it to make sure everything is on spec, does any knows knows of a shop or perhaps a forum member here on AudioKarma that offers repair services? I live in Orlando, Florida. I am trying not to ship this, I could drive maybe a 100 miles or so.

There is an old guy in Melbourne. He has had a good reputation. His store name is Tedco.

Oh I used their services before. The old guy no longer repairs, he's older than 80 now! The other guy who does repairs for them seems unreliable, I took a cassette deck there and was told it was finished. Drove back home and the thing does not even rewinds :(

I don't recommend them either, I took a turntable for repair speed issues, after keeping it two weeks they told me it was to complicated for them to figure out.

I have also heard of the guy in MLB. I have a friend in Cocoa who has used him. It was good work at a decent price. Too bad he isn't in business anymore.

Its hard to find a good tech close by. I eventually just learned how to do basic maintenance on my gear. Saves a lot of money that way.

Otherwise you'll probably have to ship it out to one of the AK'ers who does repairs. If you pack it well it probably won't get damaged

I wondered if he was still alive. Sorry he did not workout for anybody. I won't be bringing him up again.

Nothing to be sorry about, he was an amazing tech. But he is very old and fragile, can't even walk straight the poor man :(
