    STA-2100 (Left Channel AMP) Problem

Currently rebuilding my STA-2100, and have run into a problem. It revolves around the main amp board in the left channel. In my infinite wisdom, I thought I would change a few transistors on the AMP boards. The SA872s (TR501 & TR502) which I used 992s HFE matched to less than 1%. As well, I...

Radio Shack Realistic STA-2100 channel unbalance

This seems to be a common thing among these receivers, I took a video show exactly how the output behaves. I played a mono 440hz tone to ensure both channels were getting the same amount of input, anything under 4 leads to low output on the right channel, it evens once you reach 5 to 6.

    Realistic Goodies

My first post... recently received the vintage bug from my friend who was looking for a system for his basement. After some research and listening.... he was transported back to the late 70s - needless to say I hitched a ride = albeit a few states away. My room as a young boy had some Altec...
