Console ID?

At first I was getting a strong early '60s RCA vibe but looking at the legs and side framing I get a later solid state vibe. hmmm.

I'd vote tubes as that tallish boxy size looks more like something that just evolved out of mono rigs. Most the SS stuff has that longer, lower look to it.

I am still rfurbing a VM console pull. Not sure I could have left it at $25. But my WAF would have gone way down. That is an interesting output tube they seem to go cheap for NOS. Anyone have any experience with them?

I just replaced 3 filter cans in an amp on one. It is a model #582 with 1200 series record changer.
I got a new cartridge here and they have many parts for VM if you need anything.

Space was also a concern. I already have two Magnavox consoles and a whole lot of other stuff. Need to reserve money for the higher-end consoles I come across. Also there was no line input of any kind, which would mean I could only play records on that console, no tapes, cds, downloaded tracks, etc. I have many more CDs and MP3s than vinyl right now.

I have a 581 console pull. If I am correct, the 581s and 582s are the same as the 1404 stand-alone amp without the metal case. (4 x 6AQ5 pp).

It don't sound bad either imho.
When I got it it was not working and I discovered 4 resistors (220K) were bad. Replaced them and it worked but I wanted to replace the caps for good measure.
It was somewhat of a pia for a tube rookie as myself.

I am gonna put it back in console and use some speakers I have on hand since mine came without the speaker cabinets..

There's lots pics I posted too btw.
