Crown XLS 1502 Running @ 2 ohms?

Should I use my crown xls 1502 @ 2 ohms it is rated down to 2 ohms but some people say that it might make too much heat @ that 2 ohm load well I have been wanting to use it with my subwoofer that is rated 1250 watts RMS but that's the whole subwoofer it's a dual voice coil subwoofer so that cut in half 625 watts RMS and I would have plenty of power with that 2 ohm load but should I worry? since this is going to be a pernate subwoofer amplifier for my home theater and I like it LOUD!

It's rated, use it. check for excess heat and enjoy. It is a Crown, built tougher then you will be dishing out.

What is the make and model of the subwoofer?

Far as the Crown, for music or HT sub duty it likely will work fine. It will shut down before it damages itself.

Experimenting with my XLS1000, it will not maintain full rated continuous power (test bench power) at 2 ohms, but it works at 2 ohms with duty cycle representative of music at the verge of clipping.

it's a Skar Audio EVL-15 D2, it will be played for music only inside my house. what power was you getting @ the 2 ohms since you said it won't maintain the full continuous rated power?
 
It was actually bridged operation at 3.7 ohms, which is like 2-ch operation at 1.85 ohms.

When I saw it would not hold full continuous power (using sine wave) I just backed off to 1/8 continuous power and it held that for an hour with no problem. That's like running music at such a level there is occasional flickering of the clipping lights.

In the case of the XLS1000 that means about 140W average with peaks to about 1100 watts.
