Curious speakers

I don't know about that. They look interesting to me. Good cabinets for other projects if nothing else.

Looks to be worth a looksee :scratch2:

They look to be solidly built. A quick browse of a search revealed that Fairfax seems to be pretty highly regarded, could be something worthwhile there. I would check em' out

my brother owned four of them for his quad system. his was a lower end two way bookshelf speaker.as i recall they lacked in every department. but that being said, those speakers you are looking at appear to be the top of the line.give them a test listen if possible. they might be of a diffrent breed. fairfax were manufactured in east newark,nj.

Two woofers and two tweeters per cabinet.
Sort of like an EPI 180 but in a different configuration.
Betcha they sound good?

Steve

Sorry.....my eye site MUST be going!!??
Did not realize they were 3-way speakers.

Betch they STILL sound good?

Steve

I posted a link from that yesterday.....he sent me a reply...no model number...the original tag on the back has fallen off...

Johnny.....Just spoke the guy who owns them....says they are tanks! I'm gonna take a look today as well....

I'm here in madison...may as well

From what I have been able to acertain.....Fairfax produced a pretty nice speaker....a couple other forums have a random person who own a pair of them (one model or another) and really like them......not much out there on them though

We need to have a Madison, WI meet-up.

Remember, recapping is a must-do on old speakers like these. That said, those aren't exactly top-spec looking cone tweeters, and for that kind of money you could get something really nice.

I'm down for a Madison Meet Up.....

I have re-capped 3 sets of speakers in the last month....its pretty damn simple...to my suprise! Having Madisound here helps too!

I've heard some pretty nice speakers over the years with cone tweeters...If nothing else...I want just to see these things...

There's no question that cone tweeters can sound pretty good. However, these look to be the really, really, really cheap variety.

Not interested in these at all - any Madison fellas feel free.

Hey I'm up for a get together. We should make that happen.
