Dahlquist DQ Crossovers With Sub

Big difference in these two.
The MX-1 is the standard add a sub crossover. Just the crossover and sub and use your amplifier. It takes the left and right amp signal pulls out what it wants and sends that to the woofer. The rest of the left and right channel signals go out to the 10s. It is designed for a single sub.
The LP-1, the one you really want, is an electronic crossover taking the preamp signal and splitting it to low and high frequencies (adjustable from 40-400Hz) and you send those low and high signals to your power amps. This unit will handle two subs, one for each channel.
I believe you can use the LP-1 with a single sub which would allow room for upgrade but it has been years since I was selling Dahlquist. It is also more than capable to handle other speaker-sub systems.

The mirror imaged pairs I've seen have labels on them on the speaker baffles, Left and Right. So you have a bit of project ahead I guess.
I started with the DQ-1W and the MX-1 passive sub. It really filled in the bottom end, but the sound was a bit flabby. Putting the sub on a stand helped some, but still wasn't there. Shopped for an LP-1 for a little while but the prices are steep. Then I had an epiphany, my Emotiva USP-1 with adjustable high and low pass filters could do nicely. I'm running the sub with a bridged Sony ES-55 (330W) and it's a sweet set up. I usually have it a 50% or 1 detent below. Sold the MX-1.
