Hello I am looking for a service manual and owners manual for DQ-10 Speakers.

Also the Schematics, and crossover rebuild list of components.

Thanks!

These things have been discussed here on ak enough that a search will bring you everything you need to know except one little tidbit and you can ask that question for an answer here on ak.

Good luck with your research. I’ll check back for that one question you might still have. It really is all out there.

For rebuilding the crossover, all you need to do most likely is replace the capacitors. You can read the capacitor values printed on the them, which is what I did when recapping DQ10 crossovers many years ago.

Baco99 did a rebuild thread, one of a dozen or so here on ak. I’m working on my third pair, first two starting life with electrolytic caps, now mirrored and film capped. Latest are upgraded with ribbon super tweeters and better tweeters and will be mirror imaged.

There are two versions. The early version doesn't have film caps and all may need to be replaced. The later version has yellow film for all but one cap, and you really only need to replace that one (82uf iirc). Rebuilding the entire crossover is not a cheap endeavor...

The .io site has ten versions. Mirror imaged, different woofer, different caps and such. I got caps off BT, New from a speaker manufacturer close out someone bought. Got a bit off but 50 covered each pair of speakers. So not horribly expensive but easily more money when the 80μF cap is replaced with a film cap.

Really would be easier if Mark told us, and showed us, what he has. Then it would be easy to point him in the direction of complete refresh without overspending on parts from Regnar, a viable option that does the work of collecting the parts needed for a price

FYI, I don't have anything yet. I found a pair at a estate sale. I was looking into what is involved with recapping etc. in advance.

I have done crossovers in many speakers but none like these. I have also recapped two Fisher 400's and have done added modifications to them.

So I know how to do the rework.

I was trying to get a idea of what components needed replaced and cost also so when bidding I would know what my threshold would be.

Look at the crossover and if they are mirror imaged. If only 1 ‘lyric cap that is all you would need to change. If mirrored, they came with films, but some mirrored theirs after that became a thing.

if all lyrics, except the two small ones the cost isn’t too bad for the sound quality.

Thanks for the update. These sell for cheap to asking a grand. I got no idea of real value and being speaker forum can’t talk value.

When you get your pair we can get you through checking em out and getting them properly restored/updated.
