Damaged Marantz Model 500 power amplifier

Ah, fedex can't pack **** in an outhouse, ask me how I know-experience. They will cover the claim, i've gone through this.

The declared value is $3000 which is exactly what I paid. I don't consider it a total loss. I am not requesting anything near the declared value.

I am sorry, I am not familiar with the rules of AK.
 
No one has sold a 500 or 500M faceplate on eBay in the last two years. A 250 faceplate went for $138 last year. No one is making repros as far as I know, and no one in their right mind is going to cut up a model 500, so it is not likely that you will ever see a faceplate on eBay. I would put the value of a faceplate at $500-750 based on supply and demand. Maybe you can convince someone to make them.
 
Why not....They may pay out the 3000.00 or offer to settle...If the latter is the case take 1500.00 and NEVER allow UPS or FEDEX to unprofessionally pack gear or speakers!!

No need to be sorry, I was just pointing it out because you're fairly new.
I would think one possibility might be to find someone that is a qualified metalworker. They might be able to possibly get that bent back to where it's at least close to original.

I'd be hard pressed to buy an amp that had received that kind of damage, particularly the cosmetics. I would consider the value to be down from at least 1/3 up to 1/2 of the value of one that hadn't received this massive hit.

Personally, I wouldn't buy it, but that isn't what you asked either. The 500 is a really nice amp to own, one of the few pieces that I thought afterwards maybe I shouldn't have sold it, so I understand why you want to keep this one. Good luck with the fix.
