Darn it!

I'm sure the badges provide a secondary baffle affect and that is where you guys are hearing the extended bass response. In super high end speakers like these with hand made (we whipped that up in a blender) cone material very little changes can cause drastic differences in performance. Don't get me started on how the density of the burlap weave manipulates the HF response. 14 grills later I have it tuned where I want it.

As we run out of more and more room we still say!

I would not turn down deals on ADS speakers, I think that is one brand you must have. :D
I agree with Kelly here.....I was at the flea market and there was a pair of ADS L620's for cheap. I have a pair already, but I just couldn't leave them there. If it hadn't of been ADS(or infinity, Large Advent, KEF, IMF, Allison, ect :D ) They woulda stayed........Stacked L620's :scratch2:

Well I picked me up a near mint set of 20's today for $18, visually a great match for my $6 17's. Stack to be reviewed this weekend. :thmbsp:

I made a boo boo there, the 20's were $16, so it's a $22 stack. ;)

the 17's and 20's seem to be almost identical, except the 20's are a 4 ohm instead of 8, and have RCA jacks. So with that being said, no review yet. :scratch2:

I picked up my second pair of KLH 17s this morning for $20. They were posted on the Seattle Craig's List yesterday, and the seller was kind enough to hold them for me until this morning. After a recap, I'll give the stack of 17s a listen, to see how I like them stacked. They are in better shape than my first pair, which I picked up for $10 at Goodwill. Now I'm on the lookout for that KLH LP to fully appreciate the sounds of these speakers...

Flip the top pair up side down so the tweeters are together in the middle. :thmbsp:

Kfa888,

Did you wire your stack in series, or parallel? It seems that their are lots of different opinions on the best method to wire a stack. My Yamaha M-4 shouldn't have any problems with a 4 ohm load, so I'm thinking of wiring them in paralllel. From what I've read, that is how Advent advised wiring a stack of the Original Advents.

For sure parallel. :thmbsp:
