Your kidding about Gilmour and his guitar playing , right ?
Pink Floyd in 94 without Waters was certainly a much much better concert than any Roger Waters concerts I've attended. Though I didn't catch this last Wall tour, so I may have missed out.
Without head-cases, rock would be easy-listening.
That's a great point.
But I prefer Gilmour. That tone!

I went to the recent wall tour and was not impressed musically wise. They came twice to Houston and only went once and didn't go the second time. Sound was just bad and it was more of a visual show rather than a music concert. I assume they thought that everyone was going to be soooo into the visual show they were putting on that no one would pay attention to the music. I saw Roger waters on the "dark side of the moon" tour back in 2007 I think and THAT was a great concert. Not this recent wall tour. The visuals were cool tough.
I saw Waters in San Jose in 2007's Dark Side of the Moon concert tour and was blown away. Best rock concert I've ever attended.

Gilmour's number one strength was his ability to express the greatest range and intensity of emotions/responses with a minimum of notes. Every note superbly chosen and beautifully placed.
The true expression of less being more.

David Gilmour is a far better guitar player than Eric Clapton, IMO, who may be the most overrated guitarist in history.
