DB Plus 880 speakers - who has them?

image.jpeg image.jpeg Not ressurecting a thread. Just adding my two cents. I found this posting while poking around and remembered buying some of these quite a while ago. I will admit to jumping to conclusions. I got them home and decided they were probably white van and stuck them in the attic. The thread made me rethink them and I had some 10" surrounds lying around from a job I had decided against. Dug them out. Fixed them up, and I can safely declare that these are not white van. Their sound is very reminiscent of my dynamo a25's (of which I have two pair). These are the 880 version and if you find them cheaply, buy them and consider it a score. Very musical. I would call them underrated, if I could find anybody rating them. Right now they're hooked up to a Harmon kardon 330c and an aiwa 3800 cassette deck. The cassette is mad season's above.

Their front badge might lead one to thing they were a WV speaker. Plus the cabinets are nothing special. They were a budget speaker that sounded better than they look. I think I still have a pair of 440s around here somewhere. I should refoam them and give them to my niece.

I bought a pair of 880s a few Months ago form a seller out of town, and finally got hold of them to find only one tweeter was working. After getting my money back, but keeping the speakers, I've sold a few spare parts to fund their refurbishment by our local shop Axent Audio in Auckland - who used to distribute DB plus. They had some original drivers and foam in storage and obviously recognised that these were worth the squeeze. I should have them back soon, and I'll post an update.

Any updates? I have a pair for sale I'm watching locally and itching to pull the trigger.
Thanks
