The TF2000's rarely come up for sale, there weren't very many made. I sold my pair to a guy all the way across the country and he's thrilled with them. He had two pairs of the TF1000's but just "had to have the 2000's." Both parties were highly satisfied with the deal. It was not that I didn't enjoy them, it was more that they're huge and I live in a one-bedroom apartment and I prefer vintage tube gear and efficient speakers more, plus I made a nice profit as well. :)
 
If you see a set of Time Windows, seriously consider them as well. Excellent sound stage and depth. Bass is good as well. Not deep, but punchy and I don't feel they need a sub.

I have an opportunity to get some. Price is $225. Missing badges, but otherwise in good condition. Haven't seen them in person, they are the 1a's.

Trying to decide if I should take the plunge or stick with the TF-500's until a better deal comes along. The seller has them listed at $300. So, if they go for that price I guess it's not ment to be. Otherwise, when he makes the 2 1/2 hour journey to visit his parents he will bring them along for me to audition. He said he would let them go for the above mentioned price, but no lower. Decisions, decisions.

Unfortunately, I haven't heard the 500's, so I can't help there. Both have loyal followers.
