Denon vs Grado or Here We Go Again...

I had a similar "In You Face" experience with a DL-160 that wushuliu reports with the 110. I loved it in the first phonostage I used, an SAE P102. I found it to be almost CD like, edgy, and soundstage coming directly from the speakers when going through a Teac receiver. It now is going through a McIntosh C 26 phonostage that I've found to be the best combo yet, very tube-like with lots of depth and imaging.

New phono stage! Luxman! Aw geez, you guys just want me to spend more money! Do I look like I work for AIG?:D

Bingo, that's exactly what I'm experiencing. I'll definitely give it time and consider the phono stage option...

Don't spend more money but if you have another receiver with a built in stage try it.

I thought my Cambridge would be good but when compared to the inbuilt stage in my Luxman L-430 it wasn't. It has MC/MM inputs and for some reason it is far superior to the Cambridge.

So what we are saying is before you pull the plug, experiment, you may find a winning combination.
