did you know your computers sound card is always default at 16 bit cd quality?

So is that why my gaming computer (that runs black edition) is clean but my laptop (legit XP Home) has malware on it?
Your statement is backwards to my experiences..

well for a while i didnt own a legit xp. i was useing a cracked ver (sp1) that didnt require a key..

this ver of windows worked fine for general use. but i couldent install sp2 or .net framework and several games and programs required them..
also i was having to reinstall windows every 3 months or so because of malware and spyware..

now with xp sp3 and windows 7 (i am dualbooting)
i havent had any spyware or malware for years, and i dont use any virus protection.

I think its a matter of the service pack version. You said your SP1 picked up a lot of viruses..Back when I had SP1 mine did too, but my black edition is SP3, as is yours, and neither have caught viruses.
