Dim Bulb Tester Question

So I'm still relatively new to working on these older amplifiers and such but I always want to make sure I get things done right. I've been working on and diagnosing an issue with a Pioneer M-90a I imported from Japan. Evidently the predrivers have failed and everything down the board is getting full rail voltage. It's gonna be a pain and frankly I got the thing so cheap it's probably not even worth it, looks like the poor thing was pulled out of a river. Regardless I want to give it a go at restoring it, starting with protecting it.

Anyways my question is, as it is a 100v unit and I'm using a step down transformer from 120v, do I put the dim bulb tester before or after the transformer? And does the lower voltage effect how I need to create the DBT?

Might also be worth noting I'm using a Sanyo TSD15U step down. 1500w protection. Don't know if that makes a difference

AFAIK, really doesn't matter either way for both questions to the main purpose of using DBT.

The point is current limiting and that happens regardless if it's before or after.

That said, I'd probably use it after just to eliminate any possible effect of transformer magnetization/loss on the bulb indication.
