DISTORTION BOTH CHANNELS NAD MODEL 200

First of all I wanted to thank the work done by all the members of the website, it really is very helpful for people like me who are just starting out in this world.

I hope someone can help me with my model 200 NAD amplifier.

The amplifier has distortion in the two channels, I changed 3 transistors 2sc1400 of the power board but it remains the same. I have seen that there is a 2sD438 with black legs.

Can anyone guide me a little where I should keep looking?

Thank you so much!

Best regards.

You could try the simple easiest things first like look for cold solder joints on the circuit board on or around the power supply and the output transistors.

With the help of the coupler switch behind the amplifier, you could separate the pre-amplifier from the power amplifier. That way, you would see if the distortion takes its source in the pre-amplifier or the power amplifier section. You would need a second amplifier for testing.

Thanks for the replies, I tried the device again yesterday, adjusted it and now it works fine . It turned out that the problem was with my PC :(and not the amp.

Best regards Joan Biel
