DIY Merrill record cleaner

The round hole is just big enough for the assembly to rotate freely; small enough that the square end of the cap::assembly has to be lifted out perpendicular to the plane of the board. It's pretty stable.
 
Thinking of building this myself and am wondering what kind of water pressure comes from the original tip? It's just a tip which gets its pressure directly from the tap correct? Would one of those kitchen sink spray nozzles hooked directly to a faucet by a small length of hose (thinking of making mine to use in a laundry tub) supply sufficient pressure.
For a distilled rinse i'm tossing around the idea of a system much like that of a modelists airbrush setup using a reservoir of distilled and a small air compressor. With a regulator I'm sure the psi could very well be dialed down to provide a safe pressure.
 
Hello, I'm new here and am trying out the DIY version of this simple system. Has anyone found or been able to put together an effective version of the hydraulic sprayer used with the GEM Dandy setup? I've already got the frame itself assembled, and the label protectors with ability to spin freely....but the hydraulic sprayer is the real crux of the matter cleaning-wise, and I haven't found a good DIY solution yet. Anyone? :scratch2:
 
I used one of these set on the flat fan pattern.

Standard, but at 6" the flat pattern generates sufficient pressure to sting your hand a little bit. Worth a try for $5.
 
Nice build there. I have an inline water filter I picked up 1/2 price at a hardware store, and was going to use that to rinse with. I've been trying to find a barb or nozzle that would give a strong but well-diffused stream to avoid any "water needle" effect. Thanks for posting your images! :tresbon:
