DIY Record Cleaning Machine - Finally Done

My apologies! When Photobucket took a big dump on us, many here lost their photos. One day when I have a some time, I'll redo these.

a quick fix is to attach this extension to the end of the p.bucket links, ~original
Attach that extension, ~original , and save, and the images reappear.

Terrific job ! I read all of this thread but I haven't found any reference to what you exactly used to make the strips you put on both sides of the slot under the vacuum tube and that make contact with the record .

The strips are velvet and are finished on both sides. I believe the width is 5/32". I found this online being sold by a hat supply company.
 
YES! Thank You very much. I ended up buying mine when I finally got enough money. Like others, I have the wood skills but not (Absolutely) the metal skills. After looking at yours, I think I see that your Shop Vac is the thing that makes yours work better than mine.(more vacuum).
It's great!.

The weight of the brush assembly is not resting on the record - it's at a pre-set height so the brushes just make contact.

The clamp is there to hold the record down during the vacuum step.

I have a Pro-ject VC-S2 ALU RCM. It works well, but is a bit noisy.

Plus, I have to stand there with the hand-held brush the whole time.

I do wish my machine had a stationary brush like this. It would make the process less tedious. Good for you!
