Do the Yamaha CR-1020 and 2020 have the same output amps?

Hi all,

I feel kind of silly asking this but where comparing pictures the amp output assemblies and parts look identical. I have not been able to compare parts lists for these two and thought I would ask since a lot of parts are interchangeable on these.

Rail voltages are 10 v higher on the CR-1020.. Output transistors are higher voltage pieces

Thank you for the detailed answer and documentation. Your schematic has the clearest voltages I have seen for the 2020!

I am still trying to hunt down the bad component in the right output board of my 2020. The unit only comes out of protection, and doesn’t blow the positive fuse, with the yellow output wire removed from the amp board. With this, the tuner audio can be heard normally through the left speaker. The output terminal of the amp board reads around 75v which keeps it in protect, thank goodness.

I have been looking for the gremlin off and on all summer. Or at least when it is cool enough to go out. I saw an output assembly on eBay for a 1020 that looked identical and was curious.

I see that backwards. If the bottom schematic is that of 1020, the rail voltage are lower. Am I see it wrong?

I'd say you're seeing right and Dave was just having a senior moment.

Thanks for these pages. The two copies I have, all the voltages are illegible.
