One Granddad was a very conservative banker...1st car of his that I remember was a 53 Chevy 2dr sedan...black with a red! top. (Surprising...but maybe it was a closeout & he bought it cheap) He traded that for a 59...kinda butter-yellow, 6 & a stick. Drove that one til he plunged for a Volare...Slanty with AUTO.
Other gramps was a sales rep for an auto parts concern...he had a taste for big Chryslers (As he was wont to announce after a couple of brandies "finest automobile ever built!!!") I vaguely remember something with wood sides (probably a Town & Country)...but the one that sticks in my mind was a 58 Desoto 2dr hardtop...black with white leather and a hemi. I was just a tyke when he got it...took me for a spin to show me "how it went".

My father's father owned whatever car he could afford at the time. The one my dad has mentioned the most was a '50 Nash Ambassador, one of the "bathtub Nashes".
My mom's father was a mechanic, and he always bought Buicks. His last car was a '48.

I doubt this Model T was his but there are quite a few photos of him posing with it. That's him gallantly helping my grandmother disembark. This car probably belonged to the woman driving it who may have been one of my great aunts. I always knew my grandfather as a loyal Pontiac man so I find it difficult to believe he ever owned a Ford.
More likely this was his: a 1926 Chevrolet. That's my grandmother, Ethel Bernice, seated on the front bumper. It's much easier to imagine my grandfather starting with a Chevy and moving up to Pontiac later in life.

On my mom's side, no idea. He died in 1961 (crashed his airplane). I know he owned quite a few cars. He owned a Mobil station and I'm sure lots of used cars came his way.
On my dad's side, Grandpa's first car was a very well-used Model A Ford. No known photos
By the time I came along, decades later, he was the VP of engineering at a forging company in town here and had a company car every couple of years, the last of which before he retired was a really sweet Lincoln Mark VII LSC.
My dad's first car was a '64 Olds F85. Mine was a '91 Nissan Maxima SE.
