I love them both. The hallway in the second, with all the angles, is really interesting. My hometown of Uniontown, Ohio, is filled with colonial-ish tract houses that all look the same...maybe that's why I grew up wanting something totally different (and more inspiring). The newer ones that they've been building that I see sprouting up by the dozen every time I go home look like they're made out of cardboard.
There were communities in California when I lived there that had beautiful, open-plan modern houses all over. The city of Orange was one of them. Cute and quaint, but with a lot of personality. that seems to be lacking in so many new-builds.
