I watched two of our feral cats refuse to let a red fox eat any of their food. I had to take a bowl of food around the back for the poor fox.

I've been around enough gators when I lived in LA to know that those gaters just weren't hungry.. THose people could have not liked what they could have seen.

If I would have been there I would have ran the cat off, because it only used up about 5 of it's lives right there..

We used to taunt the gators to come up on shore for us... Gators don't have a natural fear of man like a lot of other animals do.. They aren't used to people, they hope for an easy meal.. THey are one of the most primitive animals out there thinking wise... If you've ever seen a gator run, you'd realize most people can easily become dinner, thining they are just used to people..

Perhaps...but smarter than the one that dashed out in front of my car about 15 minutes ago. Now the cat is in kitty heaven and I'm off to the body shop in the near future to have my inner fender liner replaced.

aw... poor kitty.. I hit a cat once, and it haunted me for a long time... I've always been a cat person and it tore me up.. Bum deal it took out your fender well in the process though..

That's exactly what I was thinking. Either those parents assumed the gators were one of those "cute" wild animals, or else they were simply stupid. Or both.
