Dream Vintage System

Good question.

Real WE 91 amps, with broadband transformers for main speakers run full range.
McIntosh MC75 pr for subs, connected through a rebuilt Heathkit tube crossover, using PIO caps
Stacked Quad ESL speakers, with a pr of Hartley Concertmaster woofers, and Decca Tweeters
Garrard 301 on a large plinth to accomodate a pair of SME 3012 arms. Rebuilt Fairchild 240 mono cartridge, Koetsu Rosewood or Onyx Cartridge for stereo
Altec or WE SUT
Pr of Marantz Consolettes
Fisher FM-1000 Tuner
Rebuilt Crown Tube RtR or a rebuilt ex studio 15ips/30ips Ampex Pro Deck

That should be enough to keep me occupied !

There are three vintage systems excluding speakers and source
Sansui C-2302 and Sansui B-2302
Accuphase C-280V and Accuphase P-800
Sony TA-NR10 and Sony TA-ER1

If you get your dream system together that just means its time for a new dream. It’s a never ending chase in this hobby, at least it has been for me. Then there’s a tube dream system vs a solid state dream. Or a silver faced dream from the 70’s. I’ve had a Nakamichi dream for ever. This was the rack series around the time of the 600 series tape decks. Fun stuff but many dreams.

You did take a few years enjoying your rig and finally letting us know. That is a tall stack of gear. Must be interesting loading the 909

Thanks, It's a great system. It has made it through 3 moves. I had both amps refurbished in 2008-2009. The cassette deck was gone through by a company in Chicago back in 07 and is still working strong.
The Carver cd player has been sketchy at times, but it matches the series 2 PL stuff so well other than color....kind of a gun metal finish. I made all the cabinets and will make one for the 909 someday. Picture is deceiving...low ceiling. It's actually chin level...lol.

Awesome!!!

Victor/JVC turntable, TT71 in a CL-2P plinth with UA-7045 tonearm on the right side and a Audio Technica ATP-12T arm in the back position, carts are Denon DL-103 variants. Denon AU-340 SUT into my Audio Research SP8 preamp into my Mac MC40 monoblocks. Using HeathKit AS101 (Altec Valencias in nicer cabinets) speakers.
All vintage and brought back up to spec, this system sounds glorious.

Here’s mine. I have the amp, preamp and tuner, but not any of the other stuff
