Drive-In movie amplifiers

Interesting thread. Sadly most of these drive in theaters died before the days of the web. I recall the sound quality from the speakers being terrible. But then, who was listening? :hug:
 
Serviced tons of drive ins. Most were radio sound/solid state that I did. The tube ones I did were WE or Ballantyne 70 line volt stuff. The hassle of keeping 250-400 hardwired speakers going was daunting. Simplex made some drive in gear also.
