Dual 1219 strobe in the platter question?

I have a Dual 1219 TT and on the rubber in the platter there are strobe lines to set the speed. How do I use these? I have used strobe lines before on other TT's where you adjust the speed and the lines stop but I just can't figure out how to get this one to work.

Thanks

The strobe lines on the TT say 50hz, I'm told that fluorescent light in the USA at at 60hz, is this correct?

I have the same table...with the same markings . I went to turntableneedles.com and ordered a hanheld strobe unit. It works good!

Yours is clearly a European model - this is also evidenced by the German-made plinth, which was not made available in North America.

If it is a 220v 50 Hz table you cannot us it in the US. Are both strobes 50hz? One may be 60Hz?

I bet if the platter is lifted off, there will be a voltage selector dial on the top plate. My Euro-market 1019 is like that. In that case, you just need to be sure it has a proper 60hz idler pulley.
