Dual 1226 TT skipping.

Hello all,
I just scored a 1226 Dual TT for 50.00 yesterday from the tech shop working on my Sansui 8080.
“One owner” it was his brothers. Not original dust cover but looks nice either way. I played 3 records on it so far after he told me to lock the arm down and hit start to reset it after travel.?. I has a shure N72EJ cartridge and a green 72EJ stylus on it.
It played the first album fine. Second album has like less than 10 plays and it skipped and moved on. Album this morning a original press Fleetwood Mac Rumours it got stuck and kept skipping.
I have not changed any settings yet. Here are some pictures. To help me please.

Was the turntable in use before you bought it? If it sat for a long time, it might need a thorough cleaning and relube before it'll play records correctly. Also, looks like your anti-skate is set to zero in the pictures.
I'd check the VTF, too. Too light, it might skip. Do you know how to set VTF on the Dual arm? If not, there are tutorials on You Tube.
 
VTF is that the weight?
I have a cec st-210 I had to set up. That may be different. This is my first dual I saw it asked and bought. I was also ina rush at the moment of purchase.
Thank you for the info of tutorials on YouTube. He said my Sansui 8080 is ready soon so he may have done that I will have to ask. Can I do this work myself?
It sounded correct and a lot better than my Technics slbd20.
 
I've been doing this stuff since the 1960's, so it's second nature to me, but I'd suggest watching the tutorials on You Tube for setting vertical tracking force (VTF) on the Dual arm.
You should be able to do this, since it was pretty much required of every Dual purchaser back in the days when your 1226 was built. You should be able to find a reprint of the 1226 manual at the Vinyl Engine website. You'll need to register but it's free.
 
Sounds good. The rubber pad has become unglued should I reglue or replace. The outer metal trim is gone from that rubber pad aswell.

I wouldn't reglue it, but don't toss it. You can make your own platter mats of varying thickness to use for vertical tracking angle adjustment.

Okay I didn’t thinking gluing was the best plan. Now when a needle is almost finished the sound is muffled? How does one tell.

I got all that. And there’s a video for that on you tube. This would be the first turntable I do and then I probably need to do the same to the cec
 
Dark green stylus grips are for 78's, light green stylus grips, such as the op's are medium compliance .4 x .7 mil tips

Did you hit start with the tone-arm locked in the arm rest?
