Dual 1226 TT skipping.

How about if we try this.
Tracking force and anti-skate to 'zero'.
Float arm and then move weight a bit more out.
Report to us how arm behaves. Does it move horizontally without binding, and if the anti-skate is increased, how much do you need to get it to move arm back to rest position.

From the pic it seems like the cartridge is sitting super low to the record. Follow NoTrans instructions, though I would explain "float arm"

Found out from the tech he cleaned and serviced it so it’s lubed up and other adjustments done. I found this out yesterday when I picked up my Sansui 8080 from the shop. He said settings should be 2.5 for both.
So it did this and as seen in the photos that’s how far the record goes till it stays on that spot.
I tried adjusting the screw it made little difference whether I turned it left or right.
I tried it at 1-2.5 both same problem.
I set the weight to 1- 2.5 and left anti skate at 0 same problem. Had the weight at both 1-2.5 and turned anti skate all the way up and same problem.
Re floated arm and tried everything again same problem.
Doesn’t matter at the moment what it was set to it won’t go pass the second to lay track.
From what I can play it sounds great. I haven’t flipped it over to see anything underneath yet that’s my next stop.
Any information would be great at this point.
And no I have not watched a YouTube video yet. That may be half my problem.

So what’s happening is the tone arm is not making its way to the end. I followed a video and got it to track farther into the second to last track.
So it’s not indexing or tracking fully. And it wants to spring back to the arm rest.
I don’t own I rent where I live and this place is beyond level or true. So trying to get the base level is a nightmare. I cannot get it level on top of my Sansui 8080 because the base for the dual is to big and I cannot get it level on my CD player were it did play one side of a record fully when I first turned it on and went.
I have noticed that the auto start didn’t work nor did the stop so that must be part of the problem. I am going to bring it back to him and see what can be done this coming week.

The grease on the anti-skate hardens up, too. My Dual 1209, anti-skate was all the way up no matter where the dial was set until I cleaned and re-lubed it.
