Dual 1229 - One Channel not working

HI, I recently purchased an old dual 1229 (as is condition) which I cleaned up, replaced worn plastic parts, and got working mechanically. Once finished, I noticed that only one of the two channels works at any time. At first, it was the right channel, now it's the left. Sometimes, it's both. I have a new cartridge so I know it's not that. I have cleaned all of the cartridge contacts and the little PCB in the tonearm head. I also changed out the RCA cables and checked those connections, which all seem to be solid. I think it's a wiring issue in the tonearm. My technical skills are limited so I'm seeking help from a much more experienced hand. I am located in the Washington, DC Metro area and would welcome the opportunity to meet with someone here who can help me diagnose and fix the problem. I'm of course happy to compensate for time, parts, etc. If anyone in my area is willing to lend some advice or help, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

There are some very knowledgeable Dual-heads here on AK who can give you a couple ideas on troubleshooting. I’ve worked on a fair number of Duals myself and it’s most likely the cartridge sled, especially if the dropped channel has switched sides.

There are some much more reliable reproduction sleds available these days, but while they have gotten a little on the pricy side in my opinion, they are worth it for a good 1229.

The head shell has the folded over leaf contacts. I've cleaned them with deoxit, eraser, alcohol, etc. I think it may be a wiring issue or the PCB may not be making clean contact with the pins. I only know enough to know what I don't know. Thanks for your help.
