Dual-C Filter Capacitor G-7000

What should the capacitance reading on this Dual-C Filter Capacitor from the G-7000 unit be? Is this a bad capacitor?
Middle + Red = 8.79mF
Middle + Black = 7.84mF
Red + Black = 4.14mF

Marking on the cap says:
12000 uF + 12000uF

Both caps are about 30% low so the red/black reading is also going to be low; capacitors in series are like resistors in parallel.

Readings on the other filter capacitor is worse then.
Middle + Red = 7.8mF
Middle + Black = 1.21uF!!
Red + Black = 1.19uF!!

How does one replace this Dual-C capacitor? These are no longer available anywhere.

Get creative. You can mount a PCB where the old caps were to hold new ones, you can gut the cans and try to fit two inside, or you could potentially fit two caps in each clamp with a spacer.

I would like to try the restuff method. Can you list out what capacitor (brand, series, size) you used that would fit in the old cans? Mouser/DigiKey Part numbers if possible? Pictures?
I don't think the AU-70 uses the same capacitors as the G-7000.

Take a look here Post #32-36 for Dual Cap restuff... ;)

I don't have part numbers but I have said what types & sizes of capacitors I used.

Are there any old threads with instructions, pictures or parts list? I get the concept, but i need help with the specifics.

Thank you, I will explore the restuff method through the old threads.

If building a PCB to hold the caps, how would one go about that? Or are there pre-made PCBs you can purchase for the purpose?

Double click on the link I posted in my post #7 and go to post #32 in the linked thread - not quite step-by-step instructions but better than nothing.

Here is the link again

From Post #32

Thank you. Great post and solution. Did you actually fit in 4 caps in the old can?

What brand/series did you use, or how did you figure out the correct size?

I don't think any of the Nichicon LKG big can caps normally used for filter, would fit.

It's all there Post #32-36

No not likely - they are usually bigger than other capacitors of the same value.
