Dual CS-5000 Speed Issue Help

I know this is an old thread but wanted to give feedback on the issues on this model where the motor does not spin or spins erratically. I have found on this model that the coil wires on the brushless motor get corroded by the glue holding them down and it eats away at the enamel and the wire itself so it shorts and or breaks free. In my case i had both. The coil wire used to leave the motor winding and attach across and to the posts turn black and fall apart. Look for this.. unfortunately in many cases this cannot be fixed and will need a whole new motor stator.
 
what about the possibility of the speed sensor going bad? you know that thing the registers rotations by a tab on the platter passing through it every revolution.

actually probably not. without platter the cs5000 will speed lock
