It's "Dual" not "Duel". (Have no experience with either of the models you asking about...)

my initial reaction is that maybe you should be telling us your preference. Beyond that it may be apples and oranges, some of us prefer the older idler drives (like me) and some prefer the beltdrive for its quietness and somewhat simpler construction (read: less maintenence time). Not familiar with the ins and outs of any of the dual belt drives , just kinda hooked into the 10 and 12 series and am happy.

Have owned both Duals. The 1225 was a favorite of mine and my first Dual I ever owned. Superb performer and mine was reliable in daily use (I bought it secondhand in 1982 after being freshly overhauled by a good tech). :tresbon:

Dual 1225, Sounds good, can track anything, and built like a rock. I still miss mine some.

Like the older Duals..

Like both the 10 series 1099,1009SK,1019 and 12 series 1229. After refurbs they are rock solid and reliable!! If I had to choose my 1009SK beats my others by a hair. Has the original art deco base (the only one I liked from United Audio, Duals US distributor) and its plexiglas dust cover. After this base United Audio bases and dust cover were crappy. This base and cover were on my high school Dual 1010S. Without the music, I'd been gone ages ago.
