Dynaco a25 Speakers!! Should I get em?

Hello fellow AK’ers

Came across a pair of Dynaco a25. Well, I think there a25 ‘s

Never had a pair but I’m very curious do you to the immense following they have.

I own a pair of KLH model sixes and Advent/1 speakers and love them

Here’s a picture of them. It’s the only one I have. Getting them for 30 bucks. Good deal?
Heck yea get them.

They always amaze me with how small they are

On top of my Optimus 5s.

And they really punch above their weight for a small speaker as far as bass goes.

He’s back...
100 for 5 pairs of speakers...Not sure what the other four pairs are.

I'm curious what the rest are. Even if they're not particularly great the Dynacos for $100 is a good deal and you'll pretty much be able to make a profit on them if they're not keepers for you.

Got em. Grills are pretty dirty in the cabinets just need to be refinished a bit. One tweeter doesn’t seem to be working... :(

Everything else sounds great. Both woofers sound great. I need a replacement tweeter ASAP!!! lol

Nothing special other than the Dynacos. Pair of pioneer tower speakers, Sony tower speakers, and a pair of infinity rs3, which are actually pretty good.

Pretty sure the Dynacos I got today are a10’s...there so small...lol

Got a picture of the back? As far as dimensions the A-25 is fairly compact it’s definitely shorter than the KLH 6. The dimensions are 11½” H by 9¾ W” by 10" D.

This link has info on the Dynaco speakers, including the dimensions of the various models. Measure your speakers and look up the dimensions in the table.

This is the page, but it appears to be down or gone:

Here is the page on the WayBack Machine:

I saved a copy of the original page and put with my Dynaco info for future reference.
Nice!!! Thanks RTally!!!

I’m so bummed one of the tweeter isn’t working..oh well, gotta expect these things dealing with vintage speakers..

Glad you got this deal. Hope you can make it all work out.

Wish my A25s came with the emblems.

Do check the tweeter and clean the switch while in the cabinet. You will need to determine which tweeter, SEAS or ScanSpeak. You want matched A25s.

No, I can locate mine right now. I believe I still have one but it’s in my storage closet somewhere and it’s hard to get to right now with everyone sleeping. I really started getting into vintage speakers about 8 months ago and have been fairly lucky with my finds. No difficult repairs needed (caps, etc). Tomorrow I’m gonna locate my MM and test the tweet out...so if the tweeter is working fine, it’s either bad caps or corrosion on the tweeter switch? I suppose I’ll need to remove the woofer to see the switch inside..the little plastic knob for the tweeter level (on the back of the speaker with the bad tweeter) actually came off too...ugh, love my vintage audio gear hobby but soooo wet behind the ears when comes to repairs.

That knob should have a smal set screw for tightening it.

Test tweeter on ohmeter setting. If its good, then check internal wiring and clean the switch. If still no output, replace cap in tweeter circuit.

If its the switch, you might be able to clean it ny simply working it back and forth a dozen times or so. If not, spray with deoxit or contact cleaner and do th same thing.

Have you removed grilles yet, or measured the boxes, to see which model they are?

I bought a set of replica emblems on eBay for mine. They look great and were under $15.
