Dynaco ST35

Why not try both and see what You think. Heck, ya already got'm.

I just tried my SET el84 with my 999 and Seven as pre-amps. The Seven is a much better match-up. So we’ll see how the PP pairs when I get it.
The ST-35 will be paired with a Sansui AU9500 with K-horns also.

The bloom and harmonic distortion are to high for me. What you need is a nice MC 225 or a pair f MC 30's if you like tubes. A MC 240 will work, too. But a pair of MC-30'sare smoother if that's what you're after. I would rather have a MC 7100.

I would love to. Unfortunately my budget doesn’t allow that option.

I've used a Sansui Seven as a preamp into my Dynaco ST70 with great results. Just be careful not to lose the U shaped connectors that link the amp-preamp sections...

I'm currently using a Sansui AU 717 as my preamp into the Dynaco with my Klipsch Quartets. Sounds great in my den and will play plenty loud. I have a quad of matched regular JJ el34's and they work and sound great too, plus they keep my NOS tubes from getting worn out!
