Half of that unit is actuall an FM tuner section. The cans across the front are IF 1 and 2, along with both limiters and the discriminator. The voltage regulator tubes feed the oscillator in the tuner. The actual output stage is the rectifiers, a 6SL7 and the pair of output tubes. No negative feedback either.

Its not junk, but its better suited for either it's original purpose or as transformers to build something else around. I have one of these in original form, and it sounds nice but there are a whole lot of better amps out there. Personally I wouldn't mind having one of these to go with that spare tuner assembly I have. I could put together another working set of electronics for an 800B.

Agreed, this needs to go towards restoring an E.H. Scott radio receiver rather than being used as someone's amp project. It's not junk, but not really full bandwidth HiFi and is more collectable than amp raper project.
