Early Marantz 250 problem.

Just to comment on this old thread, the 250/250Ms I have seen tend to fluctuate a bit with bias due to the way the thermal compensation (or well an attempt) works.

So much as blowing on a driver Transistor will cause the bias to rise (if you take freeze spray you may see an alarming rise), I believe the behavior is normal as the characteristics of the Transistors change with temperature.
